There are two postings recently published on golem.de which highlight the
risks of AI usage in the first place / at the first step and in the further processing
of AI produced artifacts: Excessive transscription of every (business) conversation and/or meeting may lead into a situation, where each

A couple of days ago I added an ASCII Art diagram to my posting about AI assistants and test driven development but then noticed, it was rendering wrong on android devices. After searching around for a while I found a good explanation about the underlying problem and the proper solution on stackoverflow.com. In total, three things are required:

Update on the 19th of April 2026 regarding DuckLake specification 1.0, found on thegerister.com Initially found on thegerister.com. DuckDB proposed DuckLake as a standard for metadata and catalogs, claims it simplifies lakehouses by using a standard SQL database for all metadata, instead of complex file-based systems, while still storing data in open formats like Parquet. It will be seen, if this makes them more reliable, faster, and easier to manage. The corresponding blog post is worth reading, because it gives a systematic view on the high level data architectures of DuckLake, Databricks, IceBerg, BigQuery and Snowflake.

Found on Daniel Lemures Blog linked by Simon Wilson At the beginning of December 2025 I found on Simon Wilsons blog a link to an interesting post of Daniel Lemure, where he describes why speed matters in science. I fully go with his arguments A common mistake is to spend a lot of time—too much

SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, reasonable and time bound. SMARTer goals are not only specific, measurable, achievable, reasonable and time bound, but also engaging and rewarding. However, based of my own experience, I can say that, when setting goals and conducting subsequent performance reviews, it is not only helpful to agree on an odd number of goals and to always use SMART goal formulations, but also to explicitly define your role for each goal.

Which of the following situations do you prefer personally in a business context, where would you feel more comfortable with? The following task, "baking cookies," is intended to serve as a metaphor for all the typical work tasks and situations we are encountering in our daily work. A colleague approaches you and says: "I'm going to take one more cookie from the tin. Our colleague shouldn't be upset if there's one less cookie left for him." A colleague approaches you and says: "You can take a cookie from the tin first if you help me." A colleague approaches you and says: "Let's bake some more cookies together so everyone can satisfy their needs!"

Have you ever asked yourself what type of coworker you would prefer to deal with? A typical office situation is when you need something at work and approach a colleague: I need following ... Can you help me with this? Have you ever considered what answer you would like to hear?
